SCHIPHOL, 8 januari 2019 – Bagpoint, een aanbieder van een comfortabele en veilige “door-to-door” bagage transportdienst en bagchain®, een communicatie en mobiele bagage check-in/print kiosk leverancier voor luchthavens en luchtvaartmaatschappijen, hebben vandaag een strategisch partnership aangekondigd. Het partnership ziet toe op de ontwikkeling van een innovatieve off-airport bagage check-in oplossing, welke bagpoint dit jaar op de Nederlandse markt zal gaan lanceren.

De bagpoint off-airport bag drop oplossing vormt een belangrijk onderdeel van de “door-to-door” bagage transportdienst en geeft reizigers de mogelijkheid om ruimbagage buiten de luchthaven in te checken en af te geven bij hotels, cruiseschepen, congrescentra en andere lokale “hubs”.

Met de bagpoint off-airport bag drop oplossing wordt bagage gewogen, ingecheckt, gelabeld en veilig getransporteerd naar Schiphol, alwaar de bagage rechtstreeks geïnjecteerd wordt in het bagage systeem van de luchthaven. Met deze innovatieve dienst kunnen reizigers straks vrij en onbezorgd afreizen naar de luchthaven zonder stress en last van zware bagage. Daarbij kan de check-in rij op de luchthaven worden vermeden en kunnen reizigers direct doorlopen richting paspoortcontrole en zodoende tot wel 60 minuten aan wachttijd besparen. Zonder ruimbagage wordt het nu ook veel makkelijker en interessanter om met het openbaar vervoer naar Schiphol te reizen.

bagchain heeft een cloud-based (bagchain cloud) berichten oplossing die luchtvaartmaatschappijen en luchthavens in staat stelt om berichten uit te wisselen en de systemen van de luchtvaartmaatschappijen (DCS’s) te koppelen. Dit is de snelste, eenvoudigste, goedkoopste berichten uitwisseling oplossing die slechts één verbinding nodig heeft. De bagchain mobiele bagage check-in en print producten gebruiken ook de bagchain cloud. Het grote voordeel voor klanten is dat de bagchain producten overal neergezet kunnen worden. Dit omdat ze geen gebruik maken van de huidige (dure) luchthaven communicatie-infrastructuur. Zodra een luchtvaartmaatschappij is aangesloten op de bagchain cloud, kunnen de bagchain producten wereldwijd worden gebruikt. Dit staat garant voor een snelle “time-to-market”, en bovendien zijn er geen additionele kosten of certificeringen nodig.

Met deze strategische partnership zetten beide bedrijven gezamenlijk een goede stap richting een bagage-vrije reisbeleving. Door beide oplossingen aan elkaar te koppelen worden alle servicepunten op een veilige manier gekoppeld. Zo wordt de blueprint voor het reizen met gebruik van remote bagage drop neergezet, en deze kan later over de hele wereld worden uitgerold.

SCHIPHOL, 8th January 2019 – Bagpoint, a highly convenient and secure door-to-door luggage delivery service provider and bagchain®, a communication and a leading mobile baggage check-in/print solution provider, today announced a strategic partnership. The partnership sees the development of an off-airport self-service bag drop solution which Bagpoint will launch this year.

The Bagpoint off-airport bag drop solution forms an important part of its door-to-door luggage delivery service offering and allows passengers to check-in and drop-off their bags remotely at hotels, cruise ships, cruise ports, convention centers and other local “hubs”.

With the Bagpoint off-airport bag drop solution luggage items will be weighed, checked-in, labelled and securely transported to the airport, where Bagpoint will inject the checked bags directly into the baggage handling system of the airport. The new innovative service allows passengers to skip the waiting lines at the airport baggage check-in and proceed directly towards security saving up to 60 minutes of waiting time. Travelling with only carry-on luggage, passengers can now make the most of their day. Also, taking public transport towards the airport is now easier than ever.

bagchain has a cloud-based (bagchain cloud) messaging solution that allows airlines and airports to exchange messages and connect DCS’s (Departure Control Systems). Leave Your Luggage goes forward under the name Bagpoint. “The vision is to build an ecosystem with several Bagpoint ‘hubs’ throughout the city” says Rutger van Beek, CEO & Founder of the Leave Your Luggage company.  The brandname sticks better and is in line with the services the company is building.

LEAVE YOUR LUGGAGE (LYL)– SCHIPHOL AMSTERDAM

Friday morning at 07:00 am the hostess of ITB and the personel of LYL where waiting at the meeting point at Schiphol airport. The employees of Kinly (VIsions connected) arrived in batches of 10 or 30 people at the same time. The Group of 140 employees came from 9 different destinations around the world and they all where heading to the ISEurope exhibition in the RAI Amsterdam.

LYL helped the employees of Kinly with their luggage when arrived at Schiphol. LYL claimed all the luggage items at Schiphol Meeting point and transfered the luggage separate from the group to the hotel in Amsterdam city centre. This way the employees had their hands free to go to the ISE event and after that they could enjoy the city luggage free.

Gaby HR manager Kinly: “It was a smooth operation and the employees love dit to had an efficient ride into the city centre without their luggage. This was of corporate traveling is something new and I defenitly want to use the Leave Your Luggage services again in the future.”
